The Yallingup township is beautifully positioned on a hill that is overlooking the beautiful Yallingup Beach.
This part of the coastline here can be quite dramatic and ranges from rugged rocks and high cliff bases right through to beautiful pristine white sandy beaches.
Yallingup Beach, Injidup Beach and Smiths Beach are very popular surf breaks. they attract some of the best surfers from all around the world.
This town received its name from the aboriginal word that means “place of love”. It has always been a perfect destination for romantic getaways and for young couples on their honeymoon.
Things to do in Yallingup
In this part of the state there is much for the visitors to do. You can try exploring the spectacular underground caverns that are in the area and especially Ngilgi Cave.
Also in this area there are many arts and craft galleries, world-class restaurants. Also breweries and of course some of the finest wineries in the world.
For the more adventurous there is the magnificent Cape to Cape Track that passes right by Yallingup. It weaves its way from Cape Naturaliste for approximately 180 km all the way down to Cape Leeuwin. Down to the very south-west corner of Western Australia.
About 10 km south of Yallingup is where you will find the Quinninup Falls. This waterfall is quite attractive but you will only find it flowing during the winter and into spring. As it has a small catchment area it depends on the winter rainfalls to keep it flowing.
There is a wide range of accommodation in Yallingup that will suit most peoples needs. The ranges are from luxurious resorts, lodges and private retreats as well as hotel and apartment style accommodation. You can also pitch your tent at the local caravan park.
Tourism is the main industry in Yallingup along with the premium wines that have been developing in this area since the late 1960s.
