Castle Rock in Geographe Bay
Castle Rock is a big granite outcrop that protrudes into Geographe bay. It is quite easy to climb to the top of the rock and the views from there make it worth the effort. The beach here is excellent for swimming and sun baking on the pristine white sands.
When the Samon are running past Castle Bay there are many fishermen trying their luck. The rocks at the end of the beach are a perfect vantage point and it is normally crowded at this time of the year.
The coastline from Dunsborough to Cape Naturaliste has some beautiful beaches and secluded bays. Meelup Beach, just around the corner from this bay is one of the most popular beaches along this coastline.. During the summer months and other holidays it can get very crowded. There are very good facilities at both of these beaches.
Drone Photos over the Bay
I love the different perspective you get when you photograph Castle Rock from a drone. The colours of the water are really bought out and you can never get this type of photo if you are not using a drone.
I especially like the shots where the camera is pointing straight down at castle Rock and onto the rocks and beach.
